The other bad news is that the penalty of sin is death and hell. That is some pretty bad news because no one is without sin. So, if you are trying to do good deeds in order to get to heaven then you are going to have to be perfect. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. James 2:11 (KJV) For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. James 2:10 (KJV) For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. The only problem is that the Bible teaches that if you break one commandment it is like you have broken all of the commandments. Most people think that if their good deeds out-weigh their bad deeds then they will go to heaven. 2) Recognize That You Can’t Save Yourself A) The Bad News Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God ġ John 1:10 (KJV) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Romans 3:10 (KJV) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: However, the Bible teaches us that we have all sinned. You should not have a fear of dying and going to hell because you have never done anything wrong. If you aren’t a sinner then you don’t need to be saved. There are 5 things that you must do in order to be saved. So, the ultimate question is, how do you go to heaven? Hell is a place of fire and torment, a place no one should have a desire to be. Luke 16:24 (KJV) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue for I am tormented in this flame. Luke 16:23 (KJV) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luke 16:22 (KJV) And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried In the gospel of Luke we find the account of a rich man that died and went to hell and he lifted up his eyes in torment. Hebrews 9:27 (KJV) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: The Bible tells us that after we die then we are going to stand in judgment for what we have done in this life.
